"CANADA'S FIRST LADY OF WILDLIFE ART"
Christine Marshall
Christine is one of Canada's foremost painters of Nature. Her paintings have captured the imaginations of animal lovers everywhere. Few artists on the contemporary scene have achieved the level of success
or the international acclaim her work has received.
Christine creates breathtaking original paintings with acrylic on canvas
with immense detail and exceptional artistry and emotion.
Born in London, England, and moving to Canada at age 4,
Christine displayed an interest in art from an early age.
Her father, John Flaxman, an artist and distant relative of the
first artist engaged by the famous British potter Josiah Wedgwood, inspired her love of Nature and guided her in her initial attempts
in drawing and painting.
Her first subjects recognized and collected by the Galleries in Ontario in the mid 1970's were the large and bold Mushroom themes
which became her trademark.
Since then, research for her paintings of wildlife and landscapes were inspired by her travels throughout the world.
"I hope that through all that I encompass in my career, I can instill in others awareness for respecting and caring for the creatures that share our earth,
including our fellow human beings"
